my friends lani and steve

i have two wonderful friends named lani and steve. the three of us have known each other since our first year of business school. it’s funny because we met in business writing class together. somehow, we were placed in a group of three. our project was to do a company evaluation. as it turns out, lani owned some shares in disney, so we did something on disney. i remember that project because disney’s annual report had pocahontas on the cover and she totally looked like lani.
from that project stemmed a three musketeer friendship. i think that the three of us have gone through countless boyfriend/girlfriend relationships, two weddings, a birth, four home purchases, countless trips together, bottomless starbucks, one apartment to job to another, from the ford escort to the honda civic to the honda escape to the bmw AND the mama bmw to the jeep to the infiniti to the toyota camary and to all of my american company cars and all the 4-5 star restaurants you can imagine in los angeles - wow!
this friendship was sustained on monthly meetings at all the top end restaurants in la la land; from beverly hills to sherman oaks to outback steakhouse. it also grew up on lani and my telling steve that he will NEVER find anyone as wonderful, talented, smart, lovely and beautiful as us, so he has to really think about lowering his girlfriend standard (inside joke) or risk never being able to find love.
i know and will say it again: i am truely blessed with wonderful friends.
