flowers

Wednesday, March 22nd, 2006

since i’ve simplified my life and since i’ve slowed my life down by alot, i’ve now noticed that i am beginning “to stop and smell the roses.” i haven’t literally smelled them, but i’ve done the next best thing. while driving in SF to meet up with my friend kevin for lunch, i noticed that the center divider had these little orange flowers. upon a closer look, i recognized them. they were california poppies!

i have really fond memories of these flowers. my dad took my brother, sister and i to lancaster california just to look at the fields of poppies. people who live in southern cal know how long it takes to get there from walnut and they also know that back around 1987 there really was nothing there except those flowers. what a great experience to see fields and fields and fields of these orange flowers!
